Quick release mudguards for road bikes

I am looking to get hold of something similar to the Bontranger Satellite mudguards for a giant defy (1) 2013 road bike: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/2013.giant.defy.1.green.white.silver/11833/56801/.

    http://bontrager.com/model/06536

I have seen those guards mounted onto a couple of bikes but I'm not sure if there will be compatibility with the defy? I want to avoid going for the seat-post mounted mudguards as some of those can look ugly on a road bike. Also, the race blade ones look at little more permanent than my needs require. I understand the the Bontranger ones won't be comparable performance wise with the close fitting blades, however, those would suit for basic protection during the odd shower when not using cycle gear.

Any thoughts, or perhaps decent alternatives, would be great. Thanks..

Raceblades work well. Just be careful when using them as they can mark the frame, they come with protective strips to prevent this

Thanks Surveyor11. I am trying to avoid the race blades though. My needs are not that of somebody who will be in the rain a lot. I need the quick release option for when packing the bike into the car.

Raceblades take about 5 seconds to remove and but a little longer to put back on.

You could try one of these...

Then there are these ones from BBB which require you to put a small attachment on your brake capliper.

Thanks for the replies. I like the look of those bbb ones. Do you know if these will only work on particular brake caplipers? I've no problem with fixing the attachment as it will be neat but I'm not sure if the defy will be compatible with these?

They will certainly work with anything like this style.

Tell us what you have so we can confirm.

Actually, I see from your link what you have. They will work.

Thanks Raam, appreciate the help. So, they should be handy enough to attach I guess?

Very easy. Allen key to remove the caliper from the bike. Stick in the attachment device. Attach the caliper again. Just make sure that the brake blocks are still positioned correctly against the rim's brake surface when you pull the levers. They should be fine, but since you have moved the caliper slightly, they might be a bit off.

Thanks johnnybhoy, they have them on wheelworx. Can't see them on the usual sites, apart from amazon. 25 notes for a pair.
