Failed nct on near side rear tyre for being worn. As I'm selling car on I don't want to be spending big money. It failed on few visuals but I've all them looked after.
The question is would I get away with swapping that tyre with one from the front ? Just for the retest , it's all visual so shouldn't be on any lifts or anything.

Unlikely unless you get lucky and the NCT tester doesn't notice.

    Can you use the spare?

Could you not get a cheap part worn?

Spare is one of them awful skinny ones like a wheel barrow wheel.
I dunno could ill have look around. I was thinking it mightn't be the worst if I did get a new tyre just for that side just to avoid the hassle.

I got partworn tyres last year for €30. I had 20000 miles done on them by time the test came round and only had to replace 2. Might have gotten lucky with the ones he put on but for the sake of €30 i wouldnt chance swapping or putting the new buyer in danger of a bad skid or crash.

Ya I suppose you're right there if anything did happen you might feel guilty. Il be good so and stick on a new one altogether. Thanks for any comments and advice :)
