    HI,
I am going for a week to Clifden next week, hoping to get out for a round anyone recommend any decent/reasonable golf courses within say 45mins. I had a look at Connemara links but they were looking for €70 which is a bit outside my budget.
Saw Bearna on the net seemed reasonable a bit of a commute but doable is it any good? Any other recommendations?

I'd ring up Connemara or get down there and ask as I can only imagine they would charge you a lot less. I played Carne recently and there appears to be two rates an Irish one and a tourist one. The rack rates are way over the top. Driving all the way over to connemara and paying something like €70 is too much in my opinion.

I bet you'd get out for 35-40 and save on petrol on the 1h30min return spin to the other course.

Oughterard would be around 45 mins drive nice course and you'll pay between 15 and 25.
Bearna not worth the trip salthill is only another 10min drive and twice the course for the same money around€30

I'm gonna be up in westport next week. If you wanted a game on Monday, we could get out for €25 (via their website).....

And with the foot down you'll get there just within the 45mins.

Ballinrobe (€20 during the week but that's the rack rate so might be less if you call up) might be another option for ye lads, it's a cracking course but it's a 25 mins spin from Westport and just about an hour from Cliftden

I'll be around this Saturday for either of those if you happen to head down this weekend.

    Regards,
    Mayo Tourist Board

If you're there for the week I'd be sure you'll get better than 70, talk to them. Been a while since I played it but I'd be looking for 30-40 outside peak times.
