How fast should I swing my driver , I feel when I swing too fast I slice and too slow I lose distance and height ?

As fast as you possibly can. And swing it in the right direction.

A good swing is fast not powerful. Fast is with loose muscles and light grip. Sounds like your fast swing is powered by the arms and shoulders. Referred to as coming over the top. Try loosening up listen to the whizz as the club swung using minimal effort. Then all you have to do is hit the sweet spot. I took an inch of my driver shaft to give myself more control on hitting the sweet spot. Works my average drive is 275yds easy.

As fast as you can hit it out the middle. I slower middled hit will go a lot longer than a mi**** from the heel. The Toe off the club travels faster so mi****s there go further at the cost of huge draw / hook.

Work on setting up to the ball correctly, 90% is setup, then swing with rhythm - you should not be falling off balance.

I'll start a round stiff and swing the driver 80% but after 5 holes I'm feeling loose and if the hole warrants it I'll hit it harder, by harder I'll swing faster, BUT, that's not fast on the takeaway the speed is generated on the downswing, more precisely start the downswing at a normal speed (smooth) but accelerate through, clear you hips and create as much lag as possible between the hands and body at 3/4 through. Sounds like a lot to think about but watch the pro's - none of them snap back at crazy speed, the speed is all generated from chest height down on the downswing.

I swing 100-115 with the driver but if my timing is good I can get another 10mph from my hands through the ball, bad hits however mean goodbye ball. Swing to what you feel comfortable, if you only hit it 240y with a drive than it means your long short-game will naturally need to come on.

Note: every bad shot I hit with the driver, and especially irons, is looking for too much from the club and swinging too fast, I've hit easy shots just as far as some where I felt I swung so fast I'd split the ball. Speaking of which, lower compression balls generate more distance at slower speeds, the harder you hit them the less distance you get in some cases, example Tour pro's play a ball around 90 compression, most amateurs should use 60-80. Let the equipment do the work.

As fast as you swing your 7 iron.

Swinging faster than normal does not mean extra distance.

A well struck shot will travel furthest, no matter which club you use.
