Yeah, don't start 2 new threads 5 minutes apart.

    EDIT: AAAAAAAAND ITS GONE

More seriously. Advice in general is to attend lectures. After all you're paying for them. Lecturers are there to help. So don't be afraid to ask for it.
Not studying for exams? You're gonna have a baaaad time. Trust me.
Clubs can be a great way to make friends. Join what interests you and stuff that is new to you. Never know, could turn into a passion. Ehmm, try involve yourself in your course. Don't do the bare minimum. Oh, and definitely don't take the night before approach.

Less seriously. Thursdays are student nights. Living on campus? If you are, you'll make friends fast. If not, befriend someone who is. Pre drinking is the name of the cheap game. Gallahad is the stuff of legends/titans/Mal, try it.

Lastly. Just enjoy yourself. You're there by choice. The college years are what you make of them.

2ND EDIT: If you are living away from home. Cheap shopping is the name of the game. There's an Aldi( or a lidl?) beside the college and a Dunne. Then up the road there's a tesco. Look out for the sales. And keep an eye out on the Tesco Megathread in the Bargain Alerts forum.

If you're commuting, bring lunch. Saves a tonne of cash.

If possible buy books Second Hand. Saves a tonne. There's also free notebooks and pens at the academic advisory place(or is it another place), I think?

There's probably plenty more advice, but I'll leave that to the Maynooth Veterans.
