    All morning there was loud chirping coming from the large hedge in the back garden and this afternoon dozens of little birds took over the place, anyone know what kind of birds they are, pictures aren't great as they flew off pretty quickly when i opened the door

    Yes, definitely house sparrows. We seem to be being invaded at regular intervals by them too recently.

    Lots of post breeding flocks about just now. You could put out mixed millet for them or a peanut feeder
