    Thanks Rew.

So would you have an opinion on this camcorder whether it's any good or not? Im looking to spend up to €300 on one.

You're nearly approaching DSLR territory there! Video quality on DSLRs is getting better and better and is definitely something to consider.

The handy thing is, once you've purchased a body you can pick up better lenses to suit your needs(low light, ultra wide angle, telephoto) where as with a camcorder you don't have that option(unless you pay €2k+)

It would depend on what you were planning to use it for though, DSLR autofocus during filming is slow and noisy, that doesn't bother me at all as you can manual focus. But for some it might be a nuisance, I do recall my old video camera having incredibly fast auto focus which will come in handy for motorsport and other fast moving subjects.

    Thanks Ricky91t,

The plan is to use it for one-on one interviews with staff members, possibly interviewing customers for testimonials etc. Not really planning to use it for photography work as I plan on getting a camera just for that, like you mentioned the DSLR.

If its for interviews then a DSLR is ideal for this as you can set the focus on the person being interviewed and away you go. You also have a camera for taking photographs.

This one on Amazon is <€300 including a lens and shoots in HD video as well. You will need a tripod as well for video so with the change you will be able to pick one up!!
