Just spotted these while driving by this eve, seems to suggest that we can cycle on the pedestrian path between 7am - 7pm, 7 days a week?

Is this a temporary measure until they build the "proper" bike lane? I certainly hope so

Which pedestrian path? The one right beside the current cycle path, on the right hand side of the road facing Howth? Or the one further in beside the seafront wall?

I guess the one by the sea side, where there is no cycle lane?

I'm talking about the section after wooden bridge when heading toward howth, i.e. the section that is due to be upgraded this year

Had a look there at the weekend, and it's still not clear whether it's saying the pedestrian path is for bikes from 7am-7pm, or the designated bike lane on the road is for bikes from 7am-7pm.

If the latter, does that mean I can't cycle on the road after 7pm?!?

Also the sign appears to be facing Howth-wards so only those heading toward Clontarf can see it... meaning it's one-direction? Gah!

I took the sign to mean the 'on-road' cycle path. It's a broken white line so it's a 'clearway' for bikes from 07:00 to 19:00 and then after that cars can drive/park in it.

If it was referring to the footpath then there would be little painted bicycles on the path, which there isn't.

So, until the upgrade works it looks like we're still on the road dodging the gaps in the concrete that have claimed many a cyclist.............

Cheers, are they new? I never noticed them before :)
