Any reason why you picked that PSU? A CX500M would be more than enough and the CX600M is not really good enough for two cards.

Is a 500W good enough for the build? I probably will overclock in the feature.

    Yep, loads.

Well... I would try and get 1.5V RAM. It's not really a big issue, but more that there might be an issue with higher voltage RAM. It's rare enough nowadays, but just in case...

    Same speed and timings:

These are all much the same, they just have different heatspreaders. There's other manufacturers or ones without heatspreaders for cheaper.

I suppose I should tell you, just in case that you aren't aware, that there was a newer generation of Intel CPUs, Haswell, released a while ago. The 4670K CPU and the Z87 motherboards. Long story short is that the CPUs run hot and don't overclock as well as the last two generations. On the flip-side is that the motherboards have slightly better features - e.g., more SATA 6Gps ports which also allow for RAID etc. Also the new socket is likely to support the next generation after this (Broadwell) - now if you were to get a 3570K, you probably wouldn't be upgrading for a couple of years anyway in which case you'd be waiting two more generations (Skylake) which we expect to support DDR4, so you'll be upgrading everything (everything = RAM, CPU, board).

Everything looks fine apart from that. You'll need an extra SATA cable though. A lot of motherboards just come with two and you'll be needing 3 for the drives you have there.

I would go for the Nanoxia Deep Silence One. Similar cost, but a superior case.

Alright, I guess I'll stick with the 3570k then? Yea I forgot to stick that SATA cable in the build as well, I have one.

If the Nanoxia is back in stock by monday I'll go for that one. If not I'll go for the Black Pearl.

So swap the ADATA RAM with the 8GB-Kit G.Skill Ares PC3-12800U CL9-9-9-24 RAM? Change the PSU to the original PSU that BloodBath listed? To this: http://www.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=74174&agid=1627

    One other thing, should I change the ASRock Z77 Pro3 for a MSI-GD65? http://www.hardwareversand.de/DDR3/57131/MSI+Z77A-GD65%2C+Intel+Z77%2C+ATX%2C+DDR3.article

Is there a reason you were thinking that board over the pro 3? Sli/Crossfire(adding a second gpu)?

The pro 3 is fine if you only plan to keep it at 1 gpu and nothing crazy on the overclocks.
The msi board you linked has a lot of features that you may not use so paying for them would be a waste. If you did plan to add a second gpu there also would be cheaper options like the asrock extreme 3,supports sli and crossfire but to be honest if you were not gonna add a second gpu straight away id just stick with the asrock pro 3. Its a fairly powerful build you have there without a second gpu anyway

    Yes and yes.
Or get the CX500M, if you want a semi modular PSU. The Be Quiet one has silver rated efficiency, so that's an advantage. I should try to remember and pick that one more often.

Why do you keep making new threads?

    2 i can understand, but 4?

i'd definitely have Hardwareversand build your computer for you.

The monitor in that build is a bit small for me. This Acer 24" any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008I39WXC/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers

I don't need to get a gaming keyboard do I? A standard one would be fine for gaming. I already have one.

Any bet down keyboard is fine for gaming although once you use a quality mechanical you will find it hard to go back.

Alright, thanks for helping me put together the build. I plan to order it either tomorrow or the next day.

I would recommend a backlit keyboard as very handy for late night sessions

My friend told me this, but I doubt it's true, but he said the monitors are different on HWVS so I should buy it off Amazon?

    JUST BUY THE ****ING THING!
i'm just joking, Screens are the same wherever you buy them, all that changes is the price.

I should really have unfollowed this along time ago.

You will get a uk/irish plug from amazon. If the prices are similar i would go with amazon for the plug and ease of rma if it comes to it

I'll just get it off Amazon, the plug comes with it or I'm gonna have to pick that out as well?

I've heard rumors that these exotic plug adaptors can also be found if you know where to look. It may take a bit of digging, maybe a bribe in the local pub to get on the grapevine but eventually the man who knows will slip a note under your door and sell you one from a burlap sack at midnight under the tall tree.

I also heard they're readily available dirt cheap from Tesco, dunnes, aldi, lidl, super valu, woodies, b&q, any hardware shop, electrical shops, luggage places, train stations, airports, chemists, large newsagents, in fact just about anywhere. sounds a bit mad though, couldn't be true.

Hey bloodbath, I've ordered all the parts and its up and running, I'm on it now :) Loving it so far, I decided not to get a monitor and stuff because shipping costs is crazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

There is 0 shipping costs for items listed as super saver on Amazon.

HWVS shipping is a flat €19 as well no matter the size of the order.
