    I'm a redhead but I find the idea of "Ginger Pride" really cringey. Is that really necessary?!

    Though while I don't agree with the OP saying "gingers get more grief than homosexuals", I don't think people realise that redheads really do get a load of abuse for their hair colour. Throughout my teens I had people yelling "giiiiinger!!!" (or worse, "ginger minger!" and, memorably, "I think I saw you on TV last night - were you one of them monsters on Buffy?") at me in the street, followed by the whole "gingers have no souls" thing, followed by the occasional jibes about it now. Seriously, if all that was going on about a skin colour, rather than a hair colour, that'd be pretty serious racism. But because it's about a hair colour (and the accompanying freckles), no-one bats an eye-lid. Some people need to grow up...

    (I don't mean my friends or people who know me joking about it in good spirits, but people on the street yelling crap at me or posts on boards about how all gingers are ugly - not this thread, but there was one a while ago - is a bit much)

    Gingers rule! Well ginger women anyway. Plus they're more Irish than the rest of us. Well redheads born in Ireland are. You see a lot of fake redheads around, they wish they could pull it off. A real redhead has that amazing skin colour, not pale but I can't describe it.
    Natural redheads are rare as well, they should be a protected species. I'd love to protect one. In my bed. I got real pervy there at the end.

    All this ginger **** to me derives from a real English slag on celts,eg welsh Scottish and irish only made worse by the fact that these twats can no longer slag blacks Chinese ect without being branded racists ,it seems now to have crept into irish society. Red / ginger heads to me are the great looking people. I have seen first hand the utter crap my daughter has gone through because of the colour of her hair.
