As per a previous thread, a few locals have come together to voluntarily stage a small but international festival of experimental and electronic arts in Waterford on September (20 - 22).

The festival which is limited to 200 tickets will take place in Garter Lane theatre and Soma Contemporary Gallery. We plan on having ambient and experimental music in Garter Lane before switching to more up-tempo but still experimental sounds for late night events in Soma. There will also be a number of workshops and sound art walks around the city.

Final line-up to be announced within days but can confirm leading artists from Poland, Malta, Italy, Sweden, Britain and Ireland will be taking part.

We've also launched a Fundit campaign which is going really well http://www.fundit.ie/project/sonic-arts-waterford--saw-fest-2013

    Our first promo video

And we were featured in an interview with myself on last week's Nova on Lyric FM (around 90 mins into the show): http://www.rte.ie/radio/utils/radioplayer/rteradioweb.html#!rii=16%3A10169180%3A2417%3A04-08-2013%3A

Nova will carry a weekly update on the festival which is brilliant.

I'm not going to spam all over the place here but will post occasional updates over the next month or so. It's all voluntary so outside of the fundit campaign and some welcome grant aid from City Council we will be relying solely on ticket sales.

Tickets go on sale next week via Garter Lane booking system and will be priced at:
€50 full weekend festival ticket (all events including workshops)
€30 Saturday all day (all events including workshops)
€30 Sunday all day (all events including workshops)
€20 Saturday concerts only Garter Lane
€15 Saturday late night concerts only Soma Contemporary
€20 Sunday concerts only Garter Lane
€15 Sunday late night festival after party only Soma Contemporary

All opening night (Friday) events are free as part of Culture Night.

It would be brilliant if folks could spread the word as this is going to be a small but pretty unique event for Ireland. Many thanks.

Many thanks and do please spread the word and consider Liking on FB what we're trying to do by creating a unique international event.

    Mick

We are pleased to announce door ticket prices for Sat and Sun concerts in Garter Lane of only €15 per night. That's €15 for around 7 hours worth of live music by some of the finest electronic artists in Europe.

Friday night, 19:00, official opening by Bernard Clarke from Nova - Lyric FM.

Many thanks to the folks from here who came to both party and play.
The festival was a huge success and goes to show that it is possible to run a 3 day event of its kind in Ireland.

Sonic Arts Waterford are proud to present a short film documentary about our 2013 festival. The film which was expertly created by Keith Currams contains interviews and music and forms part of a much larger film project currently in development. If you like it, then please share on social media and spread the word. Many thanks as any exposure we get builds profile for our voluntary festival.

*yea that's me the guy being interviewed in places and performing briefly who needs a haircut but can't be arsed starting a thread looking for a barber.
