Marie Gauvin was attending a function after a Gathering event in Birr, Co Offaly, at which her elderly father was honoured, when she was struck after the fight broke out.
She was transferred to the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin, where she has had two operations.
However, she has been told that her eye will have to be surgically removed when she returns to her home in Canada
