The locking metal point on our french/patio doors has gone rusty over a long time (the top one is perfect as the day the door was put in) and im just wondering what would be the best way to repair this metal.

Would a good wire brushing and a spray of primer followed by a spray of black paint do the job?

    Pictures attached...

    Thanks for any info.

If it were me,then I would just throw that in the bin and instead drop into MILA in Kilbarrack.

A few euro for a new plate and some screws to match.:)

Actually bring that plate with you to Mila and get an exact match for it.
