Forming a duo at the minute and wondering is the best way to get gigs making a cd or YouTube clip and walking from pub to pub,or do people go through agents or agencies and do the agents take much of a cut and if so how much and where do you find them? Thanks

bands are notoriously tight lipped about what agencies they use, so don't expect much help on this one. The cute thing to do is to ask the bars which agencies they use, and get their contact details that way.

Cheers, and have you any idea how much of a cut the agencies usually take? I'm led to believe 250 is the going price for a 2 piece? The agencies might take 50?

That sounds likely, though I would give the pub to pub approach a go first, with a small acoustic act, you only need a few regular gigs to make a living
