    Hi Guys,

Just looking for some information with regards to my R1.
A mate asked to try it today and skied it up in to the air and put a nasty scratch on the head just below the "T" logo. It's down to the metal in places and it's about 12mm long. It really catches the eye when setting up.

Is there anywhere I can get this properly refurbished?
I don't want someone to do a touch up with paint of eBay so any help would be great.

I don't think so. I damaged a Titleist head a few years ago when an alignment stick went up inside the head cover  and it turned out there wasn't anything to be done. Now, I didn't try every possible avenue, so maybe there was.

American Golf in Tallaght used to do some sort of repair/refurbishment, I got a wedge re-chromed by them a good few years ago, maybe give them a call. Or call Taylormade directly.

Failing that, I'd be reminding your mate of the rule "you sky it, you buy it".

You can send it back to Taylor Made via an Account and they will be able touch it up for you, there may be a shipping cost involved.

PM me if ya need help with it.

I know its to late now but I've heard of people putting ghost tape to prevent that happening. I have no idea where you'd buy it but maybe Sellotape might work.

Ship it to Taylormade, they'll sort it. Just make sure your mate  pays fot it.

You sky it, you buy it.

Ha - that's a good one. Will be using that line when anyone wants a smack of the i20.

Thanks Lads for the info. I'll have to talk to my mate and see what he wants to do but it's good to know that it can be repaired.

If a quote you got was prohibitive and you wanted to try yourself, I'm sure it could be touched up with masking tape the area around the mark and then apply a white enamel spray can in a few coats - perhaps Taylormade would give you the RAL number for the paint...

I have decided to sell on the club and get another driver.
I know I probably won't get what it is worth but then again, if someone gets some fun from it, I'll get over it.
    Thanks again for your replies.

The loft is up to yourself with the R1. You just set it to what you want (8 to 12). Nearly everything is adjustable on this yoke.
