    Hi all,

A friend just had the mech hanger fail on his second hand Sirrus.

Afaik the mech itself is fine. Anyone know how much and where for a suitable hanger?

    How make/model specific are they?

Same thing happened to me last week. I have a Felt. I was able to get a replacement from Euro Cycles (swords). I brought in the broken hanger to make sure the replacement was the same size.

I did call another city center bike shop and they recommended calling Euro Cycles and they are the main stockest for Felts.

I had also searched the Felt site for parts and they advised of the hanger specific to road bike made in a certain period.

So, any decent Specialized dealer might have one. I would be better to ring around and to bring in the broker hanger.

I would do onto the Specialized site to see if they list the most suitable hangers.

Yeah turns out the hanger was fine, the derailleur had split in two, the whole bike is in rag order frankly. Frame is still good and the BB and wheel bearings seem ok but I'll have to douse the drive train in penetrating oil and try and make it look like metal again.
