Irish Rail Ticket Enquiry - Train-DART Changeover

    Hi there,

Can anyone shed some light on this topic. I'm planning to go from Maynooth to Lansdowne Road in the near future. What irishrail.ie is telling me is that a changeover has to be made from train to DART to complete the journey.

That's fine, all I'm wondering is can a return ticket from Maynooth to Lansdowne be purchased or does the journey have to be split into two legs; a Maynooth-Connolly return and a Connolly-Lansdowne Road return?

Not a regular user of the rail service at all. I contacted Irish Rail about it but needless to say I've heard nothing back yet.

Thanks for any help in advance

Yes, you can get a Maynooth to Lansdowne return ticket. The Irish Rail ticketing system allows you to get tickets from any place to any other place on the network.

Easiest place to change is Tara Street as there will be no possibility of having to change platforms.

Hmm, I might just do that actually.

Just out of curiosity though, when switching to the DART at Connolly for the short trip to Lansdowne, which platform would I need to be at?

Platform 5 or 6 - depends on the time of day

Switch at Tara or Pearse if your train goes through to there.

One morning train from Maynooth goes through Lansdowne all the way to Bray.
