Just wondering has anyone here entered this yet. There seems to be a bit of confusion over the date, depending on where you look it up? (September 29 or October 6)

Think it's Sat 28th J. Might do the 10k option 2 weeks out from my Eindhoven Marathon target.

Just wondering has anyone run this last year - what was the course like? Was thinking of doing it and am looking for the route. Also this is on 6th Oct with a 5k option. Moone Kilomarathon is on 28th Sept. Thanks

Ideally I'd love to keep training for this and on towards DCM. However, between getting married and going on honeymoon, I won't be doing a great deal of running for the next month or so :D therefore if I head out it will almost certainly be to "only" run 5k this time...

This suggests that it's the 6th October (and also that they don't know how to spell the word marathon). Did it last year and it was a good undulating route that would provide decent preparation for Dublin marathon, if run at marathon pace. Unfortunately, I'm away for this one.

Yep seen a banner up at frank Duffy race for that date. KC, how does moone kilomarathon compare to kilcock? I know you did an alternative moone kilomarathon :) but just in general terms.

Saw the same banner myself on Chesterfield Avenue. You don't get to race Keeh Duffy in Moone, although no doubt the route's a good tester :)

Moone was pretty flat for the first 11 miles, but got a little bumpy after that, in the back of the van. ;)

All seriousness aside, Moone is a grand course. Not as undulating as Kilcock (which might be considered a disadvantage), with water in bottles every 3 miles or so. Can't really comment on miles 11-15, which may have been uphill/downhill/defying gravity, for all I know.

You don't really get to race him in Kilcock either. This isn't the face of someone racing. :)

Sure. Here you go. Not sure that this year's route will be exactly the same though.

Ah thanks. Did the eco2run 20miler today, wanted to see what the elevation is like. Undulating compared to today no doubt. Tks.

Did the 6k race this morning- came in under 25 (just) so happy with that considering the lack of training. Came in 8th overall which was also nice:). Well run overall with a spread laid on afterwards.

I was at the other end of the scale, by the time I finished tha 42k, there was just a couple of small plated of sambos left from the hungry hoards. Still lashed into them regardless. :D

If you could improve on this race what would you suggest?

    For me:
Better Signage to indicate the end of the 6K.
Better placed water stations and bins.
Signs to show where the registration/showers etc were.

I think these two points are a little unfair. I found the water stations to be well placed and even went above and beyond by having people cycle out the last 4 miles with bags full of bottles of water to offer mobile water stations at each mile for the last 4.

Also regarding signs I drove into Kilcock not having a clue where the GAA club was and found signs every 100m at every junction (albeit kinda small ones) and had no problem finding them as a result.

One poor soul nearly ended up on a trek though in front of us as marshals were so busy in deep conversation they ignored the poor chap who nearly missed a turn only for us shouting ahead to him. Aside from that have to say was very well organised and well marshalled

Have to say found it pretty well run. Only peev was confusion at the start where marathon runners lined up in front of the 6k runners. People around me (including me) didn't know if they were the same start or not, cost me 15 sec at the start. And that is only a very minor thing.
If they advertised it a bit more think they would get a better turnout

Not the same race....both kilomarathons and both in Kildare, but at opposite ends of the county...
