    1. What is your budget? [~€750]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming, plan on playing BF3/4, ArmA III, Civ 5, etc. )

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [No]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [no]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [21'-24']

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [n/a]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [no]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Not sure]

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer is fine]

    9. When are you purchasing? [within the next week]

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [I'll manage on my own]

So for the past few weeks I've been doing a bit of research into different computer parts and I came up with the following build. I'd like to know if all the parts are compatible with each other, and if there's any improvements or savings I can make on the build.
I choose the i5 4570 over an AMD processor because I read that Intel processors generally have better single thread performance which apparently is better for gaming, but I could be completely wrong. Would I be better off buying a cheaper processor such as the fx 8320 and using the extra money to buy a better GPU, or could that lead to bottlenecking in more CPU intensive games?

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-4570 Box, LGA1150|€175.94
    ASRock B75 Pro3-M, Sockel 1155, mATX|€58.68
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-12800U CL11-11-11-28|€61.94
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€56.12
    Samsung SH-224BB bare schwarz|€17.18
    Cooler Master N200, mATX-mini-Tower, schwarz, ohne Netzteil|€33.56
    Special item: LG 22EA53VQ-P|€119.53
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€45.97
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€587.91

    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition - 2 GB GDDR5 - €160

    Total Price = €748

It's less cpu intensive games that are the problem. Games using only 2 cores are the ones that do so much better on the intels becasue of it's better per core performance. Starcraft 2, the total war series, Skyrim all use 2 cores. The amd chips total cpu power rivals the more expensive intel chips when using all threads.

For example the 100 euro fx 6300 rivals the double priced 3570k if using all 6 threads. Especially with overclocking as you are overclocking 6 threads while the intel is overclocking 4. I would say an fx 6300 at 4.5ghz has roughly the same cpu power as a 3570k at 4.5ghz. It depends on how the program is optimised of course.

So if you are going to be playing a lot of these cpu limited games the intel is what you should go for. If it's more gpu intensive games or games using 4 threads or more then the amd is a good choice. Future games will be using 6 threads. Some current games like Crysis 3 already do.

That monitor is a special item meaning it was returned or has some minor damage or box damage. Make sure to order a new one.

    ed-t Better cheaper ram.

Thanks a lot for your advice, I think I'll stick with the i5 since it seems like it beats other AMD processors in benchmarks for modern games. Down the line I'll probally upgrade the gpu to handle future games anyway.

Do you think a 450W psu will be sufficient for the build or should I buy a 500W or 550W instead? Alsoo are the tower, motherboard and cpu compatable? I just copyed them from other builds so I'm not sure if they'll work together

That mainboard isn't compatible and yes it's more than enough power. I would say that pc would use 250w tops.

You would need a socket 1150 board like this.

It has 2 less ram slots though but more sata 600 ports.

Would this be ok? MSI B85M-P33, mATX, Sockel 1150
It's a bit cheaper and is currently in stock

It would be fine if you don't mind the limited connectivity. There are no usb3 headers on the board so you wont be able to connect the case's front usb3 port. You won't be able to add more ram but it unlikely you will need more than 8gb any time soon. It also only has 1 extra pci port. If you were to add say a wireless card you won't be able to add any additional pci cards.

I'd go for the Asrock. It's a much better board and will be back in stock soon. It also has slightly better onboard sound than the MSI one.
