Administrative Review - ACCA

I was wondering if anyone has had an administrative review carried out on any of their ACCA papers before?

I failed F5 for the second time and just don't know where I'm going wrong! Put loads of work into it both times, did practice question after practice question and still didn't get it.

I was thinking of getting an administrative review carried out just to get an idea of the areas I need to improve on but I'm just not sure if it will give me enough info to justify the cost.

I'm getting one this round. Got 49% in P5 and it's my final exam. I'll let you know how I get on!

My lecturer has advised that it's basically a waste of time. He has never seen anyone go from a fail to a pass but I'd like to feel as though I tried everything

You're dead right to go for one. Especially when you only need another 1%! There's nothing to lose :)

I can't see my result changing but just thinking it might be worthwhile if it showed me where I'm going wrong.

I don't think they give remarks/feedback anymore - could be mistaken.

The last time I saw figures on this in a given sitting there were a couple of thousand administrative reviews and something like 20 changes of result.

If someone gets 49, they automatically get rechecked anyway, apparently.

To scratch the itch, and to remove the 'what ifs' get the review.

I got 49% ona diff paper & sent for admin review. What I got back a couple of wks later was a letter to say review was unsuccessful & a copy of the suggested solutions & examiner feedback (which I couldve got from site myself). There was no detailed analysis, you dont get your script back with markups. I wouldnt go for it again, it felt like a money racket :(

Correctors who give 49% deserve syphilis

That's terrible. The way they posted about it on their Facebook page it sounds like an actual decent service but to just give someone what they could get on the website is pants.

The paper probably scored a 45+ and the corrector already tried to get extra marks to bump it up but it just wasn't enough.

our lecturer basically told us that they literally count up the marks to make sure that the right marks are associated with the right questions. that's why it is so important to colour in the circle on the answer paper as to which question you are doing. When the corrector is finished marking they use a tool that was ticking up the marks all the way through because they correct it online hence why they now scan the papers through. but worth a shot for 1%! u never know.
