Nice build but I guess as your talking console money, could it compete?

Unless I'm missing something, there's no PSU in there. Looks like a great build though.

Yep I forgot the psu, cheers. :) Updated.

With next gen consoles no. Don't forget this includes a monitor and windows though. You also have access to the wealth of pc exclusives and cheap pc games.

If you didn't need the monitor and windows you could get a dedicated graphics card (7790) and fx6300 for around the same money. That would be good enough for 1080p.

    Absolutely. Nice mental exercise though!

I don't know why Steam hasn't done this yet with their own build (Steambox). This would be the ideal time for it.

Probably waiting on Kaveri or something.

If that's true, 2014 could turn out to be a very good year for AMD.

    Let's hope so :)

    I'm betting on it.

I had a look at that plus500 thing last night, very tempted at their current share price :pac:

I think there's still good value there. Looking at their history as well, 2000 and 2006 share prices were €45 and €40 per share. There's potential for that kind of growth again.

I don't think it will be quite that high but I don't see it being any less than €10 per share by next year.

Demz be the glory days. We won't see that high for quite some time I think. But with Kaveri on the horizon, a strong 9000 series release on the books, and the stability offered by the console chips we might have a winner on our hands.

I might get into the old investing myself, and front some money just for kicks.
