Getting fed up with job hunting .

Be job hunting for quite awhile now . It's no exaggeration when I say I apply somewhere different everyday weather it's online or personally call into somewhere . In the passed month I've gotten two interviews for Carry Out and KFC . The Carry Out one was a fair interview but as for the KFC one it was a joke . I called in was interviewed by the assistant manager , she didnt have my cv , new literally nothing about me , fired a few simple q's at me and got up and left . I say it lasted 3/4 minutes tops . Then got an email saying I didn't get the job . This really annoyed me especially when I find job hunting so frustrating .

I know I don't have an amazing CV but I would be a bit above average for a student my age . It just seems as if every job lately is about who you know not what you know . Nearly everyone single one of my mates that are employed got the job through a family member/ friend etc .

Just really fed up of driving all over the city , clicking refresh on job websites every day on the hour . I know it is the reality that there isn't much jobs there especially for a part time student but a few people have even said to me that they have never see someone try so hard and not even get a solid chance at employment .

Also I was considering approaching my local motor factors asking if I could maybe do a couple days work for free just to throw down on my cv and for good experience especially as it would be related to my college course . Do people think this is a good idea or could I be made a fool of ?

Please don't take this the wrong way but your post is littered with spelling mistakes and typos, and there is some awkward phrasing. Now maybe that's just frustration at your situation or it's something you have an issue with.

With so many people applying for every job these days, detail is really, really important. Things like spelling mistakes can get CVs discarded without reading in full, take a little time to double check yours. Get someone else to proof it if you have any doubts.

After that, just keep trying, eventually you will succeed. If you get to interview, try to highlight the positives about you and your availability. Don't let them focus on how your studies may mean that you are unavailable, point out when you are free for work, and how you don't mind working the more anti social hours (or whatever the case may be).

    Fingers crossed for you!

If you give up you are reducing your odds of finding a job.

Just keep plugging away... it'll eventually work out for you.

    Best of luck!

It's a good start that you've noticed this trend (add data analysis to your skills!).

Now use what you've learned, pause the random hunting for a short time, and start talking to your family and friends, and explicitly asking them to help you get a job. (People can be a bit thick at times - you've got to ask them to help you, not just drop hints and hope they get the message.)

And yes, if you're light on experience, then a chat to your local Motor Factors is a good idea. Worst case, they'll say no. Best case, they'll say yes, or perhaps even have something for you.

Know how you feel OP, it can be very frustrating. The thing that gets me the most is that I get a couple of interviews, travel, prepare for them and then they do not bother to let me know the outcome... I do understand that there is stiff competition for every position but I think the ones only getting back to the successful candidate speaks volumes about those particular companies.
There have been a few who have sent letters/emails saying I was unsuccessful which I am very grateful for.:)

OP, keep trucking as they say or perhaps look into relocating if that was an option.:)

yeah not getting contacted back is the worst . Like I dropped a CV into a local hotel and the manger sent me a letter in hand writing which I thought was quite nice to tell me there was no vacancies but my cv will be kept on file
