Will Goodbody speculates that it might be bundles rather than outright speed that will account for 4g adoption.
But perhaps of even more interest is the additional inducements that will be on offer to entice customers in. Vodafone has turned to sports and music to set its 4G superfast mobile service apart. It will offer 150 hours of Premier League soccer from Sky Sports or music from online streaming service Spotify Premium. Outlining the company’s strategy, Vodafone UK’s chief executive, Guy Lawrence, said 4G was all about entertainment. Vodafone has clearly taken the view that it’s the bundle, not the speed or coverage, that will entice customers to adopt the new service.
O2 has also gone the entertainment route, saying it will offer a year’s free music content to 4G subscribers, although it hasn’t revealed how. It has also promised further announcements on gaming inducements.
The next step now in Britain is the launch of 4G. Britain, like Ireland, has been slow to introduce superfast mobile broadband compared with the US and other European countries. Last month, the European Commission heavily criticised mobile operators across the EU for not rolling out 4G faster, with Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes saying networks in Europe were teetering on the edge of collapse because of capacity issues.

    ... that it’s the bundle ...
So it's expensive and they want to bundle stuff in to make it seem better value.

    It's not "super fast"!
In same size channel it's same speed for one user as 3G and 0.5Mbps vs 0.25Mbps if the mast is congested. In the Larger channels (NOT on 800MHz or 900MHz, maybe only 2600MHz) it's 4 times that speed. It's on average far worse than Average ADSL2 speed and 1/10th of AVERAGE cable speed.

Many People can get 1/5th or 1/10th average, much bigger spread (deviation from mean) than with DSL or Cable.

networks in Europe were teetering on the edge of collapse because of capacity issues
Too many fixed users on Mobile due to (Please tick as many as you like for your region) :

    [_] Unavailability of Fixed Broadband

[_] High proportion fixed Line rental

[_] Unwanted POTS service (regular telephone) included

    [_] TV service included

[_] People think you have to subscribe to Pay TV too

    [_] Too long contracts

[_] Perceive No flexibility to move to a different address without new contract and penalties

[_] Dishonest marketing plays down poor Cap, Congestion and 100:1 speed variations on Mobile and fact that it doesn't always connect, not marketed on a "level playing field".

[_] Mobile is mis sold as Broadband

[_] Broadcasters such as BBC, RTE & Sky promoting Video & Radio on Internet, Broadband can barely cope (and not at all if people watched 1/2 as much as Broadcast). Mobile was never envisaged to have more than 30 second 1/4 resolution video clips. It can't do even SD Broadcast Video quality, 4G can't either for any meaningful number of people at once.
