I'm looking to buy a new laptop between now and September. I will be using it for regular stuff like college work and emails, but I would also like it to be good enough to play new games on at least decent graphic settings.

My budget would be anywhere between 700 and a bit over 1000.

Do you think adding an SSD justify the extra €100 or so it would cost?

I'm probably going to go for a regular laptop, but if the price is right I would go for an ultrabook.

So do any of you have any reccomendations/tips? Also what do you guys think about the first 5 laptops on this site? http://www.custompc.ie/custom-laptops-22-c.asp

I just checked the first one, which seems to be identical to the PCS Optimus V, only PC Specialist is €114 cheaper (in the same configuration).

New new laptop has SSD, and it's wonderful. I will never go back to platter drives.

I will advise no smaller than 128GB though. I got a 64GB Surface Pro on a sick deal ($400!) but after office, a couple apps and syncing my skydrive and icloud its already almost full (about 10GB left) before I've added any music

Indeed. My new laptop has 256 GB SSD. Temporarily it's a hybrid, with the 2nd drive HDD, which will be replaced by a 512 GB SSD upgrade kit when I can acquire the funds. It was a special order deal, with good discounts, but I had to order the 2nd drive with HDD to have the slot installed by the manufacturer. They would not do one large GB SSD or two smaller SSDs.
