    Hi All,

As the title suggests I am taking a trip with Aer Lingus soon and I know there is a limit on the quantity of liquids carried in hand luggage, i.e 100ml but I am wondering could I bring a large bottle of Shampoo or Shower Gel if it's in my checked baggage which will be going into the hold.

I would appreciate any advise you could offer me.

    Thanks,
    Compgeek.

No bottle size limits in hold baggage but in most countries that stuff is cheaper there and big bottles would seem a waste of space and weight?

We just buy the stuff when we get there and leave it behind at the end, not worth the hassle of trying to travel with it.

Buy stuff where u are going, all the same price if not cheaper, buy small bottles when you arrive and leave behind when you go.

All the above posts make sense, I like to use small 50-100ml bottles and bring a couple of days worth of bathroom stuff. Dove soap is a must but can now be found in most civilised countries. Saves having to find a shop a soon as you get off a plane. Boots, Tescos and 99p shops often sell travel size bottles of toiletries.

You can fill your entire checked luggage with liquid toiletries if you want to - but learn from my mistake and wrap things in a plastic bag. There's nothing like arriving at your destination and finding everything you own smeared with conditioner :)
