The word gets used on this forum in relation to anything at all that the person using it disagrees with.

    Here is a dictionary definition:
    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/begrudgery

It is not applicable to anything at all negative, it has a specific meaning.

    That is all.

It's just the Irish version of "haters," a cheap term generally used by people with poor argumentative ability to deflect (often justified) criticism of famous people with questionable ability in their field.

Thre was a great post made on this topic a good bit back:

I think this thread is the perfect opportunity to unveil Fiachra's Law. Based on Godwin's Law except based on Irishness and Begrudgery:

"As an online discussion on all things Irish grows longer, the probability of the mention of Typical Irish Begrudgery approaches 1."

In other words, given enough time, all discussions on things Irish —regardless of topic or scope—inevitably end up being about Typical Irish Begrudgery.

What people mean by 'begrudgery' is 'Kleinian envious attack'. It's a shorthand, but we know what they mean.

I, personally, was never hit by the recession. I am debt free and have actually saved a fair amount. I like to spend money a lot at the same time which is why I have not saved more. To me, recession is a state of mind.
