Congu general play query

I recently played in a team trial match and shot -2 off the championship tees. I finished out every hole and my playing partner signed my card. I'm a category 1 golfer so I don't think the exceptional scoring record comes into play.

My question is can I be cut in general play by handicap committee as I'd like to get my handicap down as low as possible?

You might be a bit confused about the ESR, it's a reduction based on exceptional scores from counting competitions rather than something to do with non counting rounds.
I.e A Cat 2,3 or 4 wouldn't get an ESR in the above scenario.

Short answer is - in theory you could be. But you the reality is you wont be.

ESR is not relevant here. It is to accelerate donwward moving handicaps following a second significantly CSS beating competition score within a few rounds.

What might have been relevant would have been if you had nominated the round as a supplementary score and entered the card. But you didnt, and cannot do so retrospectively.

Handicap Committees can NOT cut a Category 1 player on general play.
Category 1 players are exempt from ESR also. Category 1 players handicaps are basically controlled by the GUI and the only way to have a reduction of handicap is to break CSS in a competition.

And rightly so for a Cat 1 player IMO
