    Just saw this on facelessbook.

    http://www.gridiron-magazine.com/

They are doing a 12 issue digital issue to start and if you register for interest they ask folk would they be interested in a paper copy. The sample looks cool.

    Sample here

Less than 35 Euro by today's exchange rate.

Well-designed magazine, which is always a good sign. The Sky Sports logo on the front page - are they producing the magazine or otherwise assisting it?

As long as they stick to delivering well-written pieces and not try to get into the breaking news market then they should be fine.

Neil Reynolds has some involvement in it

NFLUK have a competition to win a free subscription so I wouldn't be surprised if them and Sky are involved in it. A few of the Sky analysts will have articles in it including Jeff Reinbold. The publishers are a company called TriNorth.

I've pre-ordered the first issue for £3 to see what it's like.

The content looks excellent and if it carries on like that every month they may be on to something.

Interviews with Peterson, Harbaugh, Luck. Tactical analysis of the Patriots without Hernandez. A feature with an NFL scout telling us about what their job entails and a 24 page season preview. Impressive stuff IMO.

I don't think the print version will come to fruition as there won't be enough interest, but if they keep getting content like the above then I'll certainly subscribe to the digital version for £30 a year which totals £2.50 per issue.

Very handy to have on the tablet to pass the time travelling to and from work etc.

First Down was great back in the day, I'll certainly take a look at this.

I would be more interested in a printed version.

    EDIT - £60 though.

I used to think the same of the First Down Mag back in the day and even though many referred to it as a magazine it was actually a newspaper and was excellent. Looks can be deceiving and all that. Now having said that I haven't read either of these new ones so I can't comment on or compare either of them.
