Hi all. I have the R7 with the MWT. I got it from ForeGolf a good few years ago, and the used the weights to correct a straighten a duck hook draw. I'm now cutting the bollix fading it, and was thinking of reversing the weights. Anyone tried this? Anyone noticed a difference with the befor & after. I wont get a chance to hit a ball until the medal on Saturday, but was thinking that it cant hurt to give it a try. Can it? Thanks, BM

Dont have your club, but same sort of weight system in my 910.

I got fitted and measured and got stat tracking before purchase. The Titleist fitter put me to a C3, this was a higher flight and promoted a big draw. Was marvellous. After some swing changes though, I started hitting a draw naturally. Coupled with the weight setting it turned into a very exagerated draw. Granted I was getting massive distance in good run conditions, I was having to aim a fair bit right to bring it back in to play, and risked running into rough of the left of fairway.

I changed the weights to setup for a big fade, and for some mental reason it was still hitting a big draw. I noticed that I was a bit off in terms of my swing, hitting alot of slingshot hooks ( not snaphooks, these just about half flight, would violently turn left and come into landing at a 90 angle)

I've changed back to A1 which is neutral, and am hitting lovely drives again.

If they were correcting a snaphook or "duck hook draw" they most likely set it up for a fade. If your swing has improved and your on a better swingplane, your now most likely hitting the ball at a better position. If the weights were set for a fade, obviously now your going to hit that fade.

Weights in drivers can work for you in two ways.

    1) They can be a quickfix for a swing fault. Set weight to fade to fix a draw, fit for draw to fix a fade
    2) Can be used to generate better ball flight and control

Number two is really where weights are the most beneficial. Option 1 is putting a plaster over a crack. When you fix the root cause, you can really use the benefit of weights. Sounds like you have improved your swing. As a rule of thumb, put it back neutral , and then work from there. I'm hitting a ball right to left naturally now, after years of left to right, so I dont need the weights to assist, I only use them when I want to change ball flight depending on conditions before a round
