Illness benefit query

    Hi all,
    I just have a quick question about illness benefit.

    I have a long term illness which involved bouts of treatment which are done in a day ward (Infusions).
    These last 3 days at a time and I usually need another couple of days to deal with the side effects.

    I work full time. I got illness benefit back in January for a bout of illness I had. Now I need another 3 days of treatment.

    I know the first 3 days aren't covered but I'm wondering if it's for each separate illness or the first 3 days in the year?

    So the fact that I had 3 unpaid days in january, if I'm off for a week will I be eligible to claim for the full week or just the 2 days?

    Any info is much appreciated.
