I plan on sitting F8 Audit and Assurance in December and am trying to decide which lecturer to go to.

Can anyone share their experiences or relay anything they may have heard about the various lecturers?

    Thanks!

Check the "Best ACCA Route" thread as I was basically looking for the same info.

Shaun Browne from City Colleges seems to pretty sh*t hot by all accounts

I done F8 with Cormac Kavenagh in DBS and Dave O'Donohoe in Independent colleges. I then done P7 with Shaun Browne in City Colleges (which i passed first time!).... my advice after studying with the 3 of them...... Shaun Browne all the way. I wish I had gone to him for F8!

I had Dave O'Donohoe for F7 and F8 and found him to be an excellent lecturer. He tries to keep the class interesting which is important particularly with a theory paper such as F8.

Having read the threads on this forum re: ACCA F8 lecturers, I've found I'm torn between using Terence Lawless in DBS or Shaun Browne in City Colleges.
    Any recommendations please?

I had Sean Browne (P7) and Terry (F1) biggest extremes in papers. Both were excellent. Don't think you can go wrong with either. Sean is a bit mad and not every ones cup of tea but has been lecturing the paper for donkeys. Terry is relatively new but he is very good too and everyone that has had him couldn't say a bad word. Both good choices.

Thanks ACCA1916 - on that advice I may just go with the timetable that suits me the best!

I did F8 with Griffith recently, not mentioning any names but I can't say I found the lecturer that great tbh, his style just didn't really appeal to me, so I think I'll be doing P1 somewhere else.

I have to agree with ZeroThreat on both counts. Terence reads directly from the manual during class, he has a tendency to get sidetracked which inevitably ends up with a lot of waffle.

.... he's in DBS, no? I was actually referring to someone who lectured in Griffith, but n/m. :D
