Revision course P1 or P3

    I am going to sit P1 and P3 in December, but I have limited funds to do revision courses, so I have to choose one.

    P1 or P3, advice please?

    Personally I would do P3.
    P1 can be done without any classes/revision courses IMO anyway.

    Agreed, P3 is harder than P1 IMO, therefore I'd be doing the P3 revision course

    Shane O'Grady in Independent Colleges. It's just my opinion, but I think he's the best ACCA lecturer I've had.

    He does a lot of background work (ie, topics due to come up, examiners reports etc etc) and his lecturers are interesting too, lots of practical examples for the theory which is great to be able to drop into exam scripts.

    +1 for shane o'grady in independent. He puts a lot of work and preperation into his lectures. Gave out handouts of each section and which year and question it relates to. Very exam focused- he was in the army so you can he is well drilled in that sense. He is interesting and tells good stories which makes it easier to relate to a boring subject. I would nearly go to him just for his exam technique alone. Be surprised if theres anyone better than him for both subjects. Again just my opinion. But you will get your moneys worth with him.

    I disagree. I took his classes and revisions and I didn't even bother to go to QBR after I picked up the materials. He waffles way too much and there's very small material in it. I found sitting in his class a waste of time and I got through most of the stuff by reading the textbook and doing exam questions myself. I passed P3 with 54 but I wouldn't recommend his class to anyone.

    I'd also recommend Shane and agree with previous posters regardng his exam technique advice.

    One of the best pieces of advice I got while studying was from Shane. He would always remind the class that you're not marked out of 100, you're marked out of 1, 100 times.
