So it seems Toronado is like that kid that finally wins at something and then never plays again because he's scared of losing again. :pac:

Anyway very interesting race. Intello is favourite.

    Intello 7/4
    Dawn Approach 15/8
    Moonlight Cloud 5/2
    Elusive Kate 8/1
    Olympic Glory 12/1
    Aljamaaheer 14/1
    Burwaaz 100/1
    Leitir Mor 100/1

Toronado has been given a break and rightly so. Unlike DA.

Moonlight Cloud will do for me

Is Moonlight Cloud an intended runner, or just declared ?

    Intended runner

Moonlight Cloud is a sprinter and they think Intello could be an Arc horse, so in my opinion that makes Dawn Approach a 5 star max bet at that price

It's a very finely balanced race, Intello beat Mshawish 4 1/2l in the Prix Du Jockey club while Dawn Approach beat the same horse 4l in the St James Palace stakes, but DA has improved by 1/2l since then on official ratings, so there's possibly nothing between them. DA needs a strong pace to keep him settled which will also play to Intello's proven stamina.

Too slow a pace would suit Moonlight Cloud, while Elusive Kate and William Buick could wander around and take out half the field.:)

More likely to go for the Matron according to her owner

9/4 the field now. Weight for age allowances make this a fascinating race. Moonlight cloud was oh so impressive last week and her Farh/excelebration form from last yr looks the best. If she gets to unleash that blistering turn of foot tomorrow she'll leave them trailing in her wake. However, this is just too good a race to bet in , such a classy line up. So I'll just watch and enjoy it.

Dawn Approach 12 on the PMU at the moment, that's huge. I really do think it's a match between him and Intello today!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Little King Robin 6/1 at Downpatrick in the 4.30. Better effort last time out when second and the further step up in trip should suit. Doesn't look a strong race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,961 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

can't resist the 5/2 on intello myself
think it'll be between that and moonlight
Not too worried about da if im being honest

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,451 ✭✭✭Overthelast

Atr are hopeful there won't be a clash with the curragh race at 2.45pm, without saying which they would show. This happens far too often.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

Would be very disappointing if the older horses could beat DA and Intello, DA is the best on ratings and Intello has certainly done enough to show that he's a live danger to him. The strong pace should burn off the rest leaving Intello to pass the gone for home DA near the line if he's good enough

Desperately tight, DA not the same horse since the derby.

    Moonlight Cloud deserved that.

Did Intello meet trouble in running and how close up did DOW finish?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,961 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

    disappointing from intello

two rides for ruby at dp
    3.0+4.30
    two good things surely ;)

Intello needs further. Moonlight Cloud and Olympic Glory were well clear. Dawn Approach well beaten, was one of the first off the bridle and was struggling to get by the pacemakers.

Didn't see any hard luck stories, except perhaps for the runner up who had to angle out to produce his run. Didn't see DOW. If anything, moonlight cloud was set alight a fraction early, none could cope when she quickened away from them.

    3-10 Windsor

Strictly Silca would have a great chance in this one. Hasn't really come on from his early days where he ran really well against the likes of Toranado and Just the Judge but a class 4 handicap should be winnable of his current mark

3 from 3 at winds for hughes (2 odds on)
3 to go, next two are around 6/4

Coventry is looking more septic by the day.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

I was a bit cautious about War today, the fact it came as such a surprise the Coventry set a little doubt in my head but that's still disappointing. Sudirman is a nice horse he improves with every race and is tough

Sudirman wants 7 id say. big lazy lump when he hits the front, but tough, sure enough.

Thanks Johner saw your post earlier had a good look at the race then and felt he also had a great chance but wouldnt have backed only for you Cheers again:)

I know i don't put too much emphasis on times but Sudirman broke the 2 year old track record and it was the second fastest time ever over 6 at the Curragh. Really like this fella think he has a real nice attitude, love a horse that is a real trier

you have to at that price
wonder will they let him have it though

IR lays landed at 5/4 - 6/4 also. The proprietors of several establishments in Dublin salute you, Richard.

It's liable to be top form based on the distance the 3rd home Ambiance was beaten. The top French Filly Vorda got rave reviews when she beat him 3 1/4l in the GP 2 Prix Robert Papin and Sudirman beat him 4 1/2 l today. Plus the time of the race was equal to that of the 4 yo 115 OR Slade Power in the 6f sprint. Adjusted for weight for age that would be some performance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

That's impressive he could be a proper horse, I assume it would be National Stakes next or Dewhurst but they look spoilt for choice this year with Indian Maharaja and the Elusive Quality colt. Maybe one for the Mornay if they kept him to six

72 rated sassaway .5 out of the track record aswell on the card or something like that I seen on another forum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Not surprising to see DA flop yesterday it was only 2 weeks ago that he had a really tough race at Goodwood, Godolphin hate ruining horses dont they.

A two year old at this time of year would I think receive 28lbs from older horses in a 6f handicap. so 72 plus 28 + the 3lb extra that Sudirman at 9'3 was carrying in comparison to Sassaway 9'0 = 103lb plus 10.5lb for the difference in time. ( 4.2l @ 2.5lb per l over 6f for the .7 seconds @ 6l a second on fast ground )

So Sudirman ran to approximately 115 based on time against Sassaway and co.

He ran approximately the same time as the 115 rated 4yo Slade Power who was carrying 7b more than him so add 28-7lb = 21lbs to 115 = 136:eek: So you can safely forget that time comparison.

Sudirman yesterday beat the 104 rated Ambience by 4 1/2l @ 2.5lbs a length over 6f = approx 11/12lbs putting Sudirman on 115/116 which is what a fairly good winner of the Phoenix would be rated at.

Which is probably about right considering War Command 118 didn't actually flop, but was obviously not the superstar that he appeared to be at Ascot.
