Hmm, seems my kindle is tied to the .com so can't buy from .co.uk
Must check the periodicals, if I don't lose access to things like Foreign Affairs and a couple others I might switch it.

It is only 1 or 2 steps on .com website to change , I was initally tied to .com site also

I'm tied to the .com site as well, whenever I find an interesting free Kindle book on the uk site, it's usually also free on the .com site.

Its a few months since I did it , but I think when I logged into .com and was in Kindle store section that there was a fairly obvious link to change it to .co.uk ,maybe that was based on my default address.

But I would think there is something similiar Under 'Your Account'-'Manage My Kindle' - 'Country Settings'
There is then a link alongside "Shop for digital content and manage your account at an international Amazon store "

I think you should be able to do it from there.

    Thanks OP:)

Re: changing to .co.uk account - when I logged in to my account and bought a book the option to switch came up automatically. I only use kindle for books so don't know if it carries over any regular subscriptions etc. It did say in the info provided but I didn't read

Looks like you lose access to the past issues, which is a bit annoying, and some subs aren't available from .co.uk so you can lose the sub completely.
    Fair warning!

If its any help to others Mrs mufflers kindle was tied to the .com site until a few months ago. Im not into all the technical stuff myself but give it a go and got stuck unfortunately.

But you can have Amazon UK call you back (immediately too) using their online contact page Just go through the couple of drop down menus and click on the call us tab then. You just enter your phone and country and they call you back.

I used that at the time I wanted to switch the kindle over and they talked me through it. Brilliant customer care I must admit.

My Kindle was locked to the .com site. But I just went to download a free book from the .co.uk site and as soon as I did it said, your device is currently locked to the .com site, would you like to move it to the .co.uk sit. I said yes, job done.

So, one click and I was moved from .com to .co.uk.
