    Hello,
I'm putting a project together that would involve both still portraits and videos of the subject. Problem is, I don't have the lightning equipment (nor the experience using it...) for what I have in mind and am looking for advises and (affordable, if possible...) lightning kits for both media types.
Any idea anybody? Thank you very much in advance!

For video you will need continuous lighting, but for stills strobes are better as they're more controllable. I don't do video so I don't know about continuous lighting, but for catalogue photos I have an Elinchrom D Lite kit I got from Bermingham Cameras. Probably best to call in to a camera shop and ask their advice.
