Book rail ticket from Sallins to Westport

I'm trying to book a rail ticket for next Tuesday from Sallins to Westport but it's not available online. If I book from Heuston I can but if I try connect with this service in Portarlington I'm guessing my ticket doesn't cover the Sallins - Portarlington journey? What's the cheapest way to do this properly by rail?

    Thanks,
    nb

Book Dublin-Westport online and collect the ticket at Sallins. You can either travel to Heuston and board there or else board at the first stop en route.

I would still have to buy a ticket for to cover Sallins to the connecting station journey wouldn't I? I made this same trip last year and booked online no problem  and connected from Portarlington

Ring the irish rail telesales line and they will make the booking for you at the online price afaik

Thanks foggy I'll give it a go and let you know. Will there be much of a price difference if booked tomorrow?

The booking office fares are €37 single €38 day return €52.50 open return but the telephone fares should be same as online which for next tuesday should be around €22-€25 single.

Just in case anyone comes across this looking to do the same. I was booking this for a family member but it wasn't to be as they'd of needed my card to collect the ticket.

Also it's not possible to book from Sallins to anywhere as it's a commuter station even the booking office couldn't do it they could only book the Portarlington - Westport leg. Looking back I think this is what I did last year.

On a positive note the booking office where very helpful.

    Thanks for the replies,

You dont need the card to collect your tickets just the reference number you get after you booked.

Sorry yes as it turns out the card wasn't needed it was the booking office who had told me it would need to be present although they may have been talking about the ticket for the first leg
