    Whats that Polycharger Wax Booster??

"Symptoms: Dull Paint & No Time To Wax Every Weekend"
To fix that, you need to polish....and who waxes every weekend...any decent wax should last 4 weeks!
Think its funny when you hear people saying or in car ads...car is polished and waxed once a week!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,245 ✭✭✭myshirt

Is that one of those ceramic coatings maybe?

God knows. Unregulated industry with thousands of products. You could describe your product as anything, when really it's actually something else.

What about a booster wax on top of a layer of normal wax? Booster or not, it's still a wax. I'm talking about the likes of Turtle Wax Wax it Wet.

Agree with you there....the lines are quite blurred when it comes to products!!

Meant to say in my other post that the Jeffs Werkstat stuff is very good....especially on Silver!

On the Polycharger Wax Booster.....see here
Mixing it every time would be a pain, I reckon, though not too much hassle if its a liquid wax/sealant. Due to the curing agent, mixed batches, they'll only last two days.
IMO, I can see it help ordinary products, but I wouldnt reckon it would be needed in the better products. Might be good with a Quick Detailer, though there are Quick Detailer products out there that give ~6 weeks protection, in average road/weather conditions.
I'd spend the money on a good nano sealant

Huh? Are you sticking up for the weekly polish & waxers?

I remember it from years ago, iirc it's an additive to increase durability of an existing liquid wax or sealant.

Nope, just reminding you that it's possible to wax every week using booster waxes ;)

Be sure to post back with some pics. I'm interested to see how well it works. :)

While it works, Polycharger never really took off as a DIY product additive. So the manufacturer have since incorporated it into their own line of products. No more mixing and no need to throw away any excess leftover.

Jou - Lidl were selling adapters that let you swap lances with Karcher ones or something along those lines if that's of any use to you.

Thanks. They're unavailable. And don't know if they'd be OK for me, because lance is not really the most important for me.

I want to replace standard lidl hose with karcher quick release one (well, obviously will change to karcher lance as well).

The problem is - can nowhere find an adapter M14x1.5 (female) to M22x1.5 (male) to connect karcher quick release socket to lidl pressure washer hose reel.

Initially considered to join existing 6m lidl hose and my 7.5m karcher hose, but read somewhere it may cause significant pressure drop.

So now gonna try to source appropriate adapter, or someone who can make one for me. :)

Well, it won't be easy to find "plug and play" adapter.

Did some research - found that I need female swivel JIC with inverted flare (M14x1.5) to male M22x1.5 adapter.

Inverted flare fittings are quite rare - that's the main problem. :(

One local shop is able to make custom hydraulic (crimp-on) hoses -that'll be my next step. ;)

    Time for update.

Took so long due to miserable postal service - 10 days from Omagh to Roscommon! Shame.

    Bought this:

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/330716721857

    and this:

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/330690395899

Already had 1/4 BSP male to female high pressure elbow. If you don't have, I'd recommend this one:

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/310536310350

An elbow is a must, otherwise entire set of adapters will be too long to fit onto a reel.

It is quite long anyway, but I think I'll sort it out on saturday and post some photos then. :)

Well, still friday, but didn't want to wait so long. :D

3 holes drilled, 3 tie wraps used.

    Reel, outer view:

    273500.jpg

    Inner view, all adapters described:

    273501.jpg

    Yet another inner view:

    273502.jpg

Finally, 7.5m Karcher hose wound, no problem at all. I'd say even 10m hose would fit. :)

    273503.jpg

By the way - why not use lidl/homebase/kew/alto/lavor/nilfisk attachments with karcher lance, huh?

    Bought this today:

I didnt buy it but was given a full tube of it.

G3 regular grade paste compound. Anyone have experience with it?

Good swirl remover when used with a DA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

I've no experiece with it. But reading about it on their site, it is designed to remove defects up to 1500 grit, which means its got a bit of cut to it (assuming it can actually perform as it say it does). Should do a reasonable job at correcting light swirls, but you might want to consider refining the surface with a finihsing polish and pad afterwards to get the paint to really pop!

Also came across this stuff that I forgot I bought about a year ago, Rain Dance Carnauba Wax, http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/pi/mp/17285/1893273007?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jmosskingsley.com%2Fimages%2F41bFJvDhK5L.jpg&d=4cf173a3ed16bd1952097d416ff587e7335a63d21893273007?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jmosskingsley.com%2Fimages%2F41bFJvDhK5L.jpg&d=4cf173a3ed16bd1952097d416ff587e7335a63d2

Anyone have any experience or know if it's any good?

Hi my name is Joe and I'm a detailing addict!!

So I went a little mad shopping online the past few weeks.

Bought a Draper Wet and Dry Vac off Amazon.

A KingBarney DA off the German website linked on this forum. It came with around 20 different pads!

25 metre long extension cable to have handy! :D

I must thank Curran for his advice and products from the Detailing Shed!! Great guy!! ;):D

Got some microfibre applicators and paint brushes from B&Q on sale :D

And Friday I decided to purchase a Karcher K2 Compact from Woodies and picked up a foam lance off Amazon!

This to add to my shelf of stuff at home means I cannot wait for a fine Saturday off!!

Keep us posted Joe. interested to hear how you get on with vac and polisher.

Post up a few before/after pics if you can!

Will do! Hopefully get to use the wet vac and power washer this weekend!

When I'll have the time for the DA I don't know but the previous owner of my car had lots of cars so the roof is destroyed with little scratches! Looking forward to trying to correct them if possible!
