Claim medical expenses twice for one year?

    I claimed for med expenses for last year but found more receipts for the same year. So I claimed again on paye anytime, is that okay to do?

    Fine so long as you added them to the existing figure.

    I already got the tax back on the original figure submitted so just put in the additional costs.

    Maybe I'll submit the original added to the additional?

    All you have done there is tell Revenue you now have a different figure for health expenses.

    For example, if you had put in 300 originally and you found an extra 150 receipts, you should have put in an amended figure of 450. If you just put in an amended figure of 150, it could end up in an underpayment situation where you owe money to Revenue as your initial claim was based on 300 not 150.

    Got some letter asking me to contact re a refund? But they put the relief money into my account?

    I tried ringing the revenue but it was a joke. The automated systems couldn't understand me saying my pps number and then I got an automated message saying they're too busy and it hung up? Absolute joke.

    It gets like that when it's really busy. It's annoying, but just try them again in a little bit.
