    Hope its nothing sinister

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/plane-ireland-emergency-landing-philly-19895797
A plane from Ireland has made an emergency landing in Philadelphia because of an unspecified threat.
A spokeswoman for Philadelphia International Airport says officials don't have any details about the threat or where the flight was originally headed.
Philadelphia police say emergency officials are meeting the plane and passengers are going to be taken off the jet to be screened.

    UPDATE Bomb Threat apparently
    PHILADELPHIA August 7, 2013 (AP)

Federal authorities are at Philadelphia's airport because of an apparent bomb threat made in connection with an incoming flight from Ireland.

USAirways Flight 777 from Shannon landed at Philadelphia International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Law enforcement officials met the plane on the tarmac and passengers exited the jet to waiting buses. FBI spokeswoman Carrie Adamowski says agents are assisting Transportation Security Administration officials in the investigation.

Police and airport officials say they don't have any specifics about the apparent threat or details about from where it may have originated.

U.S. customs officials have screening facilities at Shannon Airport and the passengers aboard the plane would have gone through them before boarding.

Knowing US Airways they probably hadn't enough fuel to get where they were going and they're doing a whipround of the passengers as we speak.

It's probably some drumkeen irish idiot who got full drunk, was refused more beer and threatened to blow the plane up...coz he's mad like that!

It'll be some fool who has reacted badly to mixing medication and alcohol. Mid air madness, shouting abuse and making threats. Come the inevitable court case we'll here about how he or she is a saint normally, rarely drinks and blames the medication.

We shouldn't have let the US use Shannon to bring troops through it and God/Allah/Buddha/Jesus knows who else.

So they got to the USA then.

Unless the plane landed in a giant tub of cheese.

Philadelphia is the only airport US Airways fly to from Shannon. Some coincidence that that's where the plane was diverted to.

Shocking! Imagine offering to take in people who where never charged with a crime but held without access to legal advice for over 10 years. Ireland owes them this at least. Half the poor bastards were probably flown through Irish air space after they had been illegally kidnapped from their own countries and taken elsewhere for torture.

    I dont get it.

A plane bound for Philadelphia landed in Philadelphia?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Usual bull****, fear & terror etc
Not a shred of evidence of anything, unspecified threat, wtf is that?

It's like when they supposedly killed bin laden, not a shred of proof, they dumped him in the sea straight away, convenient that, really believable too :D

All part of the game in the US. Regular "terror alerts" keep US citizens in fear and justify all the excessive security and NSA snooping. Same as that terror alert at the weekend that there might be a terrorist somewhere in the world in the next month.
