Following on from today's Nintendo Direct, here are details of the new promotion in the same vein as the Monster Hunter Hunt Together offer.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Welcome a Friend Promotion

Thousands of mayors across Europe are already enjoying a new laidback life in Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS, and now you can introduce a friend to the fun with the Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Welcome a Friend Promotion!

If you register Animal Crossing: New Leaf with Club Nintendo before 22:59 (UK time) on 7th September, you’ll be able to receive a Recommendation Code which you can pass along to a friend. If your friend registers a Nintendo 3DS XL system between 23:01 (UK time) on 6th August and 22:59 (UK time) on 7th October 2013, and enters the Recommendation Code before 22:59 (UK time) on 7th October 2013, he/she will be eligible to claim a free Download Code for Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is even more fun with friends: get together to trade rare items and fruit, have a fishing face-off, or do anything else you like!

How does this work for any of those of us that have already registered th game, do we get a code or is it only for people that register it from today onwards?

Yeah from my reading of it, anyone who registers Animal Crossing before September 7th should get a recommendation code.

Do the codes chain like they did for Monster hunter? Is Tajd still trying to offload a 3DS points card? Will new players pay me cash for in-game persimmon? So many questions...

I gave my code away to someone who had only 2 posts, only posted on this thread, I asked them if they wouldn't mind forwarding on their code when they got one, they said of course they would and then they didn't. Which is fuppin annoying.

My own fault for not having condition of minimum post number or something, so, I apologise for that. Genuine poster might have missed out.

We did this for MH as well, tbh even some posters with plenty of posts just f***ed off with them.

I think the date to register a copy of AC:NL to generate a new code has now passed anyway.

Sure I gave away a code for the So many games promotion to a regular who a few days later ended up trying to sell the game on adverts.

I registered the game back when it came out. Did you have to do something else to get the code or should it be sitting my Nintendo club account when I sign in. I'd gladly give it to someone ego wasn't a tool
