Hello, would appreciate any advice re student loans. I have a son and daughter starting college this year and need to help organise student loans for them. What banks or other institutions are best for this? Do any offer loans with deferred payment facilities? Would be glad of any pointers. Thanks.

I am also very interested to find some info for this. I'm mostly interested in the possibility of interest free short term student loans if they are even possible?

Credit union. Much lower interest and more flexible repayment options.

I read in the paper aib are considering giving low interest loans for students on certain courses up to €10,000. I wouldn't get a loan from bank as the rates are ridculous. Have you considered co signing for your sons bank account so he can get over drafts( I think aib allows up to €1,500 interest free its co sign). And get the remainder in a cu loan. Most cu offer low rate education loans
