My girlfriends parents got married today in the registration office and we are all going out for a large family meal later this evening.

Should I buy them a gift of some sort? If so, what?

If they are your Girlfriends parents.. maybe a gift wouldn't go astray..

Or take the old man out to the pub - That would probably be appreciated better :)

Yeah you should bring something, ask your girlfriend for advice on what to get.

    Yes.

You're also obliged to give me a little something for answering you. I'm registered at me local. Cheers.

Just buy a nice bottle of Champagne and soak everyone with it during dinner.

Offer to babysit your GF, so they can get some 'alone time' at the weekend.

Get them a voucher for a night in a hotel somewhere, you can get one night b&b plus a dinner for like €70 nowadays

You should offer them the gift of proposing to their daughter.

You're not obliged to buy your girlfriend's parents anything on one of the biggest days of their life, no.

Hey wait, is your girlfriend not buying them something? Don't couples normally go in on stuff like this?

Check the thread on wedding presents. Then wash your jocks, head down the bank and empty them savings accounts.

Break up with their daughter the day after the wedding. After your initial question you will be giving them the best gift of their lives in the long term :-))
