Prepare yourself for perhaps the most awe-inspiring game in the history of gaming.

It's an excellent game but it does look dated so consider using some graphical and visual enhancement mods along with some of the city/town expansions.

EDIT: I can't remember the mods I used off the top of my head but morrowind nexus (with a good day of searching and installing) should have all you need and plus some.

Find the Steed stone. To make money early on, you need carry weight - the Steed stone will give you a 100 extra carry weight, and the set of armor you wear will weigh nothing.

Edit: Level up as quickly as you can (check youtube for quick leveling guides) and to pay for trainers you need money. Also, check out 'Secret Arcana' for leveling up. The problem I have with this game is you get all the nice perks/goodies when all the main quests are done, and you don't need them anymore. Do yourself a favor and leave the main quests for a bit.

@diegroblers - the steed stone is in Skyrim, not morrowind.
The best boosters for early game are the following -
    1. After you finish your registration, go to the shelves and grab the platter, value 650. Immediately open your menu and drop it. The guard will let you off with a warning but as its not in your inventory now, it wont be taken. Leave it on the floor for now.
    2. There is a magic ring in the barrel between the two buildings. Take it but do not return it when you find out who owns it, not yet anyway. Healing magic is always helpful at the start.
    3. Behind the guy you have to give your papers to, Sellus Gravius, there is a key for the warehouse across the street. To get it, go to the opposite end of the table, grab the candlestick or anything else on the table. He will move to tell you not to steal and leave you off anyway. When you exit the dialogue, run to where he was and grab the key. Do the same trick as earlier, menu and drop, and hopefully he wont have gotten to you on time to take it from you. After he is finished warning you again, pick up the key and go back for the platter. Once you leave the building you can be arrested so take it now and dont get caught stealing again :)
    4. There is an axe in a hollow tree near the lighthouse.
    5. Full set of Master's alchemy gear upstairs in Caldera mages guild. Travel there and go upstairs for it. Just save first in case you are caught, usually doesnt happen.
    6. Buy summon weapon/armour spells. Make a spell with that effect first and soultrap on self after. This will summon a permanent weapon/armour which has Daedric stats but no weight.
    7. Find the boots of blinding speed, boosts speed by 200 so you will be going everywhere faster.
