I see only Twitter John Joe Maher passed away.

From my days in Boys and Youths I remember him from the first tee at nearly every event, always had time for a few words.

    An absolute gent.

    RIP

My dad knew him well from a long time ago thru business and golf and when I told him the news he told me stories about how much of a gent he was.
    Too few like him.

John Joe Maher was a gentleman and was nothing but encouraging to thousands of young golfers down through the years through his involvement with the Boys and Youth comps.

He will be sorely missed by many.

    May he RIP.

Thanks for the kind words for my Uncle John Joe, it is a great comfort to all of us to see how well liked John Joe was by the people whom he had contact with in so many ways with during his life and especially in golfing circles and that his hard work didn’t go unnoticed.

    John
