    From Wrestlezone

    WWE Smackdown
    Air Date: August 9th, 2013
Sent in by WZ reader Aaron Veras

    (1) Randy Orton def. Rob Van Dam. The crowd was split 50/50 between the two babyfaces, and Orton got the win with an RKO after Van Dam missed a frog splash.

-The Miz came out for Miz TV and introduced his guests, Big E Langston and AJ Lee. Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn cut them off. The Miz made a mixed tag team match official for SummerSlam - he's allowed to do that, apparently, because he's the SummerSlam host. Ziggler hit the Zig Zag on Langston, and Kaitlyn left AJ lying with a spear.

    (2) Fandango def. Kofi Kingston. This was a rematch from their match on Raw Monday night, and Fandango got the win with a top rope leg drop.

    (3) Daniel Bryan def. Wade Barrett, playing off their incident on Raw where Bryan shaved half of Barrett's face. He is now completely clean shaven - doesn't help his career any though.

    (4) Kane def. Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre. Despite this being a 3-on-1 handicap match, Kane squashed all of them in less than two minutes. The Wyatt Family did a promo from the screen after the match.

    (5) Christian def. Alberto del Rio. This was a non-title match which Christian won with the Unprettier. Here's a free 20-minute match on telelvision - please still buy our pay-per-view for $50 in two weeks though.

-With Alberto del Rio down in the ring still, Damien Sandow hit the ring and tried to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Cody Rhodes ran down and came off the top rope with a flying cross body on Sandow to make sure he didn't cash in.

Wow, 3MB actually can't be buried any more, could they?

The booking of Christian and ADR is bizarre. Why make the match? And even if you are going to do that, why not have Ricardo interfere and cost ADR the match as revenge for what happened on Raw.

Because that is probably what is coming at Summerslam.

I'm sure he was really over after he did that. The editing team better pipe in those seagull cries. :pac:

Well maybe, Rodriguez interfering doesn't necessarily mean a title change.

Wouldn't be shocked if that was a dark segment tbh.

That said....why would Cody do it? Sure, he's annoyed at Sandow. But he's in a match with Sandow at Mania; if Sandow is the champion, Cody gets a title match! Surely it would actually be in his best interest to HELP Sandow (and it could be an interesting aspect of the story too, and since Del Rio is heel, wouldn't actually turn Cody heel either...).

I'd say Christian would have priority against Sandow since his match is for the title, not to fight against ADR.

So during the Kofi/Fandango match, people started chanting USA when they seemed to be supporting Kofi.

The Lesnar-Punk hype video is one of the best things WWE has done in a while:

Sandow's new leather bound briefcase is quality.

RVD-Orton and Christian-Del Rio are really good matches.

Is it not on early in the morning, I was going to watch it on a stream but there appears to be none.

That new briefcase is a beauty. I almost don't want him to cash in anymore, just carry the case around for the rest of his career.

Say sumtin stupid Paul was better :p
Watched the first hour + a half of Smackdown, I do miss the From the Vault matches even if they do little for the current product. Nice to see Van Dam show a shred of effort for a change, still don't like him but i'd be rude not to mention it.
Lesnar should stick to these Countdown esque promos as they have been his strength since returning (he did a great one on Cena too) even if his ones for his Dvd were done when Heyman must of phoned in sick.

You can see Heyman's influence all over this Lesnar/Punk stuff. Outstanding.

Cool that Lesnar is talking more. I think he's a pretty good talker. Better than the vast majority.

The Beast is the Best. Class.

Brock has menace and credibility for days but he isn't the best with coming up with his own stuff or improvising:

    :p

I dont get it, AJ is still the Divas champion right? why is Kaitlyn going on about how she wants to be done with AJ after Summerslam? maybe the fans would want that having seen it so much by now but surely any Diva would want to get another shot at the Divas champion.
