What bicycle should I buy?

    Hi there,
I am getting into cycling as a 50 years old lady. I want to buy a second hand ladies racer. The bike to work scheme is not an option. There's a forme rapide for sale at about €400 and a dolce specialised bike for about €640. Both appear to be in excellent condition. Could probably get them a bit cheaper. Both are small frame, which is my size and supposed to be about a year old. Please advise me on which would be the best bike as I am new to the bike scene.
    Thanks in advance,
    MM

The base level Dolce is going for €698 with the basic kit new. They were €774 before that. Expect to pay no more than €1100 for a new one with the expensive component group set.

The Forme was about €670 new or thereabouts. I think it uses Microshift gear components which wouldn't be the usual Shimano or Campagnolo brands which seem to be favored. Dunno if this would matter if the components break they are usually replaced rather than repaired.

You could also keep an eye out for :

    Cannondale Synapse.
    LaPierre Audacio.

Also Halfords are selling their Carrera TDF at the moment for €312. I don't see much difference between that and the bottom spec Specialized for €698. Wouldn't be a bad beginners bike for a year or two IMO.
