so at the beginning of this year i went to thailand, was fabulous but was just there for 3 weeks. i have never really done much travelling but now i have the bug!!

im thinking of vietnam and cambodia, travelling round for maybe 4 weeks or so, cant take any more time off work.

im looking for anyone who has been there? where are the 'have to see'places?
    is 4 weeks enough?
would you reccommend it, even if im alone? im a female in my 30's

Vietnam is a big country and could alone take up those 3-4 weeks. You could spend a few days in Cambodia if you really want to see it though.
Angkor Wat and surrounding temples are usually the typical destination in Cambodia but others have suggested many other things to see, such as the Killing fields out if its very sad history.

We were only in the North. We went to Sapa, Hanoi and Ha Long Bay. We spent about a week in total, would've loved to have stayed longer in all 3 locations.
There's lots to see in the South too, the Mekong River area and the little East coast beach towns.

Four weeks would be just enough to enjoy vietnam alone, love vietnam find it way better than over touristy Thailand, you can get a flight into Hanoi and out of hcmc so no back tracking, mayb get a flight from Hanoi to siemreap for two days for ankor watt. From Hanoi you have sapa and the highlands, halong bay, head down to danang hue and hoi an and central highlands, down to nha trang few days at the beach and dalat city, down south to hcmc and the Mekong delta. It's just a ruff guide but its such a big country you'll need four weeks(and more).
It's cheaper than Thailand people are nicer and you'll have no problem been a single woman, have met many a single traveller on our travels through vietnam.
