just notice that amazon no longer provides free shipping on video game preorders to the Ireland, regardless of value.

what is strange about this is that once the game is released, you can get free shipping.

so it seems for what ever reason no free shipping on pre order of videogames.

My bad, I didn’t go all the way to the checkout before. I fired off an email to their customer service to see what they say.

Still not fixed. I was checking out with a game costing GBP 40 and another GBP50 of other items in my basket and no free shipping option. What's worse is they were charging shipping on everything and not just the game.
I know I can split the order and claim a refund on the game shipping but too much hassle.
I'll avoid amazon UK and shop elsewhere until they get their act together.

I ordered a pre-order game earlier along with another item that was eligible for free shipping and they took off the whole amount of the shipping not just for the game. I emailed them initially and pretty much got the same response as above- replied to that with the order number and a few hours later it was taken off so not really too much of a hassle since the card hasn't been charged yet. The only other point the first email had was that it had to be sold by Amazon.co.uk themselves.

Please place the order via standard delivery and get back to and we will waive off the postage charges. Please note that we will only be able to waive off the postage if the item is dispatched and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

I made my second pre-order on a game today after getting the first delivery costs removed. For the second order I contacted them again and he said:

"super saver delivery is not available for pre order items.
It's the same even for UK addresses." and that "My colleague had removed the charges as an exception on your first order." dafuq!

What the hell is going on here, I said to him "do I have to wait until the game is released in order it and get the supersaver? that makes no sense at all!"

At this rate we don't qualify for any pre-order promotions stuff (if you want supersaver)

Im gonna email them tomorrow and see if it's a technical issue or confusion from the new uk £10 min spend...

the UK mini spend dose not apply to dvd/bluray/games tho

I have a UK addrees for a friend on my account and the following is there for pre orders on games

    Choose a delivery option

FREE Super Saver Delivery (3 - 5 business days)

First Class --get it on its release day: Friday, October 4.

this problem started when they started this offer
FREE Release Day Delivery is available to Non-Prime members for eligible products (including games, consoles and accessories) listed in the Amazon.co.uk 'PC & Video Games' store that are pre-ordered between July 30, 2013 and 23:59 on 31 December 2013. Please see the FREE Release Day Delivery Terms and Conditions for more information.

since then Irish address do not get the offer of free shipping on pre orders of videos games.

I tried the Parcel Motel address as well and you get the same options for Super Saver and First Class so there is that option at least. Some games the sons are looking for are collectors editions only available on Amazon so might have to go that route. Hopefully they have this fixed soon since PM isn't always the handiest to get to.

Got this reply from them today:

I'm sorry for the delay in responding to your e-mail message. Please be assured that all of us here are working very hard to provide a thorough, personal reply to each of our customers as quickly as possible.

Please be informed that as previously promised FREE Super Saver Delivery on eligible orders over £25 is currently available to Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Gibraltar, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Sweden.

It appears that due to an error you order was not eligible for FREE Super Saver Delivery. I've reported this problem to the technical team and they'll resolve it as soon as possible. These errors are normally fixed within a short period of time, so please try again shortly.

If you still unable to place the order via FREE Super Saver Delivery to Ireland, we request you to order the qualifying items and write back to us so that we can manually apply the FREE Super Saver Delivery to your order.

I think the easiest way to do this for now, would be just to place the item in your basket and then open a live chat and tell them then, that way it can be applied at time of order

I did that he second time I pre-orderd and the guy said to me "super saver delivery is not available for pre order items. It's the same even for UK addresses." and that "My colleague had removed the charges as an exception on your first order."

I guess he was just uninformed... But anyway hopefully they will fix it soon.

They seem to have fixed the problem now- took Batman: Arkham Origins Collector's Edition preorder to checkout and the option for Super Saver delivery is there. Just to be sure I took it further just before placing the order and the option is still there.
