Gears slipping in middle cogs...

    Hi Folks,
I picked up a second hand bike which came with separate wheels than the originals. Now when you gear down to the middle cogs, the gears make a loud clunking noise...I can really only use the top on lowest cog on the rear casette...

Would this have something to do with the casette not fitting the chain as I dont think this happens with the original wheels. Also, how much does this cost to fix?

Might just need a bit of adjustment. Had my bike in my lbs today with slipping gears and a few other minor bits and pieces needing attention and he charged me a tenner. Had a quick spin earlier and it's changing grand now and running well.
