So I could have sold my current rig that iv been using at the minute. Somebody has to get back to me with it. It leaves me about 800 quid for a new build.

    1. What is your budget? [€700-800]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Photoshop, Premier Pro and a bit of internet usage] Games like Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, want it to run pretty much everything at med/high for the next few years

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [No] No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] Have a 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm,Card reader and 2 spare Artic Cooling F12 fans

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes/No] No

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.] N/A

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [1920x1080/1440x900/etc.] [Yes/No] Using a 28" 1080P HD TV at the minute but will probably invest in a proper monitor setup in the coming months.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] No although a blu ray drive would be nice, just to read, not write. Would also like good quality speakers, hear the Wavemasters are a popular choice

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Yes/No] Yes

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser] Any

    9. When are you purchasing? [In x days] As soon as my old rig is sold. Possibly in the next 3-4 days

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City/Cork City/Kerry/etc.] Laois but I will be fine :)

Heres what I have picked myself but would like others opinions if I should change anything?

You forgot a motherboard. I'd probably go with an matx xeon build. I'll knock one up for you in a bit when HWVS stops being so slow.

Their server has been crap for weeks and they still haven't fixed it.

Running the likes of Premier pro, photoshop, your os and programs from 1 hdd isn't a good idea. You should have 2 minimum.

SSD's aren't just about boot times. Their random reads are hundreds of times faster than hdd's so any programs installed will run a lot better as any random data they need can be retrieved almost instantly and it can do these retrievals simultaneously where as a hdd has to queue them up while the header moves about seeking them 1 by 1.

Cheers bloodbath. I actually had everything in the basket and not the pc configurator and somehow left out the MB.
I actually have another 500GB hard drive that i also was using with most of my programs.

I was planning on adding a 250GB Samsung 840 Pro around Christmas time as I wanted the best system in budget as i could and then add more HDD's and SSD's when I have the funds. Wont be doing too much with Premier Pro until mid next year as it will be for college and video editing isnt until module 2 in January

Cheers for that Bloodbath. Im assuming the Xeon is miles ahead of the FX6300. Iv heard you previously say its like a i7 3770 running 100mhz slower? How is that chip for overclocking?

When using geizhals.de to get a discount on HWVS iv gotten it down to €742 including delivery without the case. I was hoping to get an ATX as this allows me a lot more 3.5" and 2.5" hdd bays and had my heart set on a white case. Is the cooltek I mentioned above any good for the price? Or any other reccomendations for a White ATX case?

Finally would it be worth squeezing an extra 50-100 quid into my budget for extra performance. Like should I go to Full ATX board or aftermarket cooler etc?)

That's cool, change the board to the b75 full atx version then and go with the cooltek. It's a great case for the price.

The xeon can't be overclocked but it's still miles ahead of the 6300 even with overclocking.

If you want a better quieter cooler grab the €15 zalman 92mm one on HWVS.

Changed to Atx instead of Matx. And changed the case to the Cooltek. Added a 2TB drive for storing my media and games on also. Decided to hold off on blu ray drive and get a bd burner at a later stage along with the Wavemaster speakers as i usually just use my Studios.

Will search If I can get anything off the Card as nothing is showing up right now. Also would it make sense to swap the 760 for this: http://www.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=65951&agid=1942&pvid=9m881xu1k_0&ref=27 because its 38c cheaper and (hopefully) still comes with Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Crysis 3 and
    Bioshock Infinite??

I know in benchmarking that the 7950 is a bit behind the 760 but It would save me a few quid as i fully intended to buy crysis and bioshock. Is the powercooler an ok card?

Bloodbath, I couldnt find that 92mm fan, any chance you have a link?

Basically the same price with the 7950. Would this be a fair enough build?

The 7950 is the better card when you take overclocking into account and the free games help of course.

That cooler is awful though. I'd spend the extra to get this one.

    Zalman cooler.

Great thanks for the advice :)

Up to €863 now including delivery. Hoping to flog my PC on Saturday and then order this then straight away :)

So didnt sell my other PC at the weekend due to somebody trying to scam me with counterfeit notes(bugger).

Putting a full upgrade on hold for the minute but still have about 300 quid to pump into my system.
I was thinking of getting a small SSD for os and core programs only, 2 tb HDD, cpu cooler and maybe more ram.

Ill be running the entire Adobe Suite mainly Photoshop/Premier Pro, word processing, little bit of coding, web browsing, watching movies and casual gaming(mainly indie games and emulators). Graphics card is fine for what I want at the minute.

    Heres my current system:
    Item|Price
    8GB G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-12800U CL10|€58.79
AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€101.96
    ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0, AM3+, ATX|€62.51
    2 x Cooler Master BC 80 LED Blau|€11.22
    Cooler Master Elite 431 RC-431K-KWN1 Midi-Tower - pure black, ohne Netzteil|€39.40
    LogiLink USB 2.0 all-in-one Card Reader, für 3,5" Einbauchschacht|€3.32
LogiLink Wireless LAN 300 Mbps PCI Karte 802.11n 2T2R|€14.64
    PowerColor Radeon HD 6670, 1GB DDR3|€56.69
    Samsung SH-224BB bare schwarz|€17.18
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€55.64
    Thermaltake Munich 430W|€37.09
    2 x ARCTIC COOLING ARCTIC F12|€6.38

Not too worried about the graphics card for now as it renders anything in photoshop quick enough for my needs. Thinking that a new GPU and PSU are in line for sometime next year.

I was also wondering how big the 212 evo is as its the preferred cooler but as the g skill ram has heatspreaders will it interfere with it?

What a prick, how did you recognise that they were fake?

I used to work in a shop for years and brought a note checker pen with me, Every one of them stained so tried to give me €600 in fake 50s. Done a runner when he realised what I was doing. Thankfully I hadnt handed over my pc already.

Took the add off adverts then. Not worth getting stung for that much cash :)

Any suggestions for what to upgrade?
